THE BOC HERITAGE TRUST
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The BOC Heritage Trust was established as a separate legal
entity in February 2007.
The founding trustees are Dave Allen, Michael Parr and Michael Barton.
We are also recognised as a Registered Charity by the Charity Commissioners.
We set out below our initial aims and objectives.
Aims
To create the primary repository of Bristol Cars related material in the
World:
- Covering advertising material, factory and other workshop manuals, books,
publicity material, all other printed and photographic material.
- A safe haven for all time
- Covering all periods
- Fully catalogued
- Index accessible via website
- Serviced by an Archivist with time, capability and interest
- Normal access free to BOC members
- Trophies, works of art, engineering items and other artefacts
Initial Objectives
- Cataloguing of existing material
- Identification and purchase of material for sale (e.g. photographs,
posters, brochures, surplus items)
- Recruitment of an Archivist with time, capability and interest
- Contact with potential donors through Club publications, The Classic Car
Press.
- Funding requirements and sources clarified
- Insurance
- Storage
- Engines and Cars for preservation
All this of course takes time, materials and money.
Money is our next priority — we will need plenty of it! Your
contributions are requested direct to our offices. Gift aid in respect of UK
Taxpayers' contributions will greatly increase the value of your contributions.
A major part of the concept of the Heritage Trust is the provision of a settled
home open and available to all — for storage, conservation and display
of materials. This is an ambitious objective and will take lots of time, effort
and money.
